This feature has sensors to detect vehicles crossing your path when in reverse. Rear Traffic Alert will sound an alarm to notify you if a vehicle comes out of nowhere. Blind Spot Monitoring
We’ve all done it ‒ tried to change lanes without realizing there was a car just outside our line of sight. That’s where the Blind Spot Monitor comes in. The Blind Spot Monitor, or Side Assist, is specifically designed to spot what you might miss. This awesome feature will alert you should you try to change lanes with another car in your blind spot to prevent a troublesome accident.
Front Assist
Front Assist is made up of three different features. The first is Forward Collision Warning, which helps monitor traffic and will let you know with sound and visual alerts that a potential collision is imminent. If Front Assist detects a potential collision, Autonomous Emergency Braking is engaged, which can help you apply more pressure to the brakes or, if the driver hasn’t hit the brakes at all, can apply the brakes automatically. Last is the Pedestrian Monitoring feature. This feature can warn of someone crossing in front of your Tiguan and, under certain circumstances, can apply the brake automatically to stop a forward collision.
Safety Doesn’t Stop There

Light Assist – automatically turns on your high beams to enhance visibility when traveling at least 37 mph. Light Assist will also automatically toggle them on and off based on nearby vehicles and traffic conditions.
Park Distance Control with Maneuver Braking – Park Distance Control has sensors to help you back out of or pull into a parking spot. Maneuver Braking can apply emergency braking to stop collisions with detected stationary obstacles while you maneuver backwards.
